London
London is the capital of England and is one of the most populous cities in the EU. Greater London has a population of more than 7 million people. Many cultures, religions and languages are part of this metropolitan area. London spans about 80 km along the river Thames. The main part of the city is located north of the river.
The name London derives from the Roman Military Base Londinium that was built in the first century AD.
