The Boat Race
The Oxford and Cambridge boat race is the rowing contest between the two oldest and most famous universities in England. It takes place every year in spring on the Thames in London.
This event is very popular and about a quarter of a million people watch the race every year from the banks of the river.
Members of both teams are known as blues, Cambridge in light blue and Oxford in dark blue.
