The Queen

England has a royal family and is a constitutional monarchy. Queen Elizabeth II was born on 21st April 1926 in London. She is officially the head of the state but the country is run by the government, led by the Prime Minister.
The Queen lives at Buckingham Palace. She is married to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Her official title is:
"Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland."
Her birthday is officially celebrated in June, normally the second Saturday in June, when better weather is more likely. This day is marked by the ceremony "trooping the colour."
