sandwich

A sandwich is made of two or more slices of bread and can contain meat, seafood, cheese, vegetables or many other things. Very often, the bread is layered with butter or sauces. Many children at school and adults at work have a packed lunch, this typically consists of a sandwich among other things. The packed lunch is carried in a plastic container, the lunchbox.

The sandwich is very popular all over the world and named after John Montagu, the Fourth Earl of Sandwich. During a gambling session he asked for roast-beef between two slices of bread because he was hungry but wanted to continue with gambling.
